92 - Barranco das Belharucas Beach, Albufeira - Algarve

The Barranco das Belharucas beach is the West end of Falésia beach. Located between the village of Olhos de Agua Albufeira and Açoteias village, Barranco das Belharucas beach is a wind-protected Beach due to high cliffs, with excellent conditions for bathing due to being in a protected ocean currents Bay area . The landscape is spectacular, whether enjoyed from the beach, or appreciated from the top of the cliff.





During empty tide, the beach of Barranco das Belharucas becomes a beach with a quite expanse of sand and shows an area of shallow water, rocks guarding the water, creating natural pools. Here it is customary to observe the small fish that are trapped in pools of water until the next tide. This creates a very interesting place to walk around and observe the changes in the landscape

During the winter, the beach of Barranco das Belharucas is a walking tour place. Being the far west from Falésia Beach, is also the starting point for the walk of approximately 5 km to Vilamoura. 10 kilometers if you walk both ways. It is also the usual location for cane anglers pass some leisure time

The access to the beach can be done by two places. The main access to the beach is made up thru a long sand road with a little difficult access and parking for cars is very difficult and reduced. The second access is via a wooden boardwalk very well cared for. This boardwalk acess is maintained by the local hotel, but is of public use
